My little tornado

It's official: My house now looks like a war zone.
We keep all of Sam's toys in a basket in the living room - now in her defense I really need to go through some of the toys b/c some of them are baby baby toys. But hey every once in a while she decides they are still interesting and will pull all of the toys out of the basket like she did last night to get to them. Here are a few pictures of the destruction...

So many toys she can't move

Outta here...

Pump It Up

This past weekend we went to our good friend's 5 year old's birthday party at Pump It Up. While Sam wasn't to sure of all the fun things to do there (maybe next time) she did enjoy the cake and present part of the party. We did get her to participate in a few of the bouncy things and got to watch her dad enjoy the large slide....

Riding around watching the kids go down the slide

Greg loved the big slide!

Deciding that cake is so good!

How many months?

My little baby is 10 months old-- I have been trying to hold off on writing this post because it is something that I don't want to face. We went into the dr's office this week for her last flu shot and in the waiting room was a 9 week old little boy-- he was so small and cuddly while the sweet little angel in my arms was having nothing to do with being cuddly and wanted nothing better to do than to get down and roam around (hence the frown in the picture above- it's not the custome she objects to - it's the fact that I am making her sit still to take her picture). I miss how little she use to be but I have to admit I am having so much fun these days-- each day is a new adventure seen in the eyes of a 10 month. She challenges me in ways I never thought I would be challenged but in a ways that I don't even know I have been.

At ten months Sam is:

close to 19lbs. due to a cold we were in the office a little over a week ago and she weighed in at 18lbs 10 oz.

Has a total of 6 teeth (2 of which are breaking through as we speak)

Is refusing to eat anything that resembles baby food-- if she can't feed herself - she doesn't want it (at home at least- at daycare she eats what ever they put in front of her)

Is all over the place crawling and pulling up

no longer sleeps through the night - the cold and teething did that to us and we are slow to get back to the norm

Favorite song is 5 Little Monkeys-- I have taught her to bonk her head with her hand when the monkey falls off the bed and now she goes around all day hitting her head wanting you to sing the song. The shaking her head no when the dr says no more monkeys jumpin on the bed she learned herself-- that is now the answer to everything you say to her if there is a tilt of a question in your voice. (I thought I had a little while before this started)

We are so blessed to have this sweet angel in our lives and I thank God everyday for this amazing blessing!

How smart is a 9 month old?

The Toy: It wobbles and on top spends balls around

The balls that go inside
Sam loves to stop it mid spin and
Put other things that you would not otherwise think of putting in it

Like a brush and of course a ball of her choice (though I don't have a picture - it is sometimes a hand held piano)

It amazes me of what all she can already think of on her own

New Pictures

Here are a few pictures taken of Sam over the last few weeks since my last post...
I know I am a horrible blogger but since she started crawling it seems I spend all my time chasing her or cleaning up after her when she is in bed!

9 Months!!!

and a few days later:

I can't believe that in less than 3 months Christmas will be here, and most importantly Sam will be a year old.
In Sam's eight month we had 2 fever viruses and our first ear infection--- these illnesses always seemed to fall on every other Thursday. Lets hope that trend as ended.

We went to the dr last Friday praying our fever virus was gone and we could get our shot that is scheduled for the 9 month appt as well as the first half of the flu shot. Luckily no fever so we have to go back in a month for her second flu shot.

Here is where we stand:

Sam is weighing in at 17lbs 8 oz.
she is 28 1/2 long

Dr B said she looked great and wish us well on staying healthy till he saw us again.

Samantha Grace's talents:

Sam can gurgle, click her tongue and makes sounds that can pass as purring and trying to imitate a dog's bark
Sam says mama, dada, baba, gaga, yaya - the first two 75% of the time to the right person. She even says bye bye as well as can wave-- occasionally will wave hello. Her daycare teacher is working on teaching her how to blow kisses-- which I have seen her do once-- and it's adorable!
more than once it sounded like we got a hi out of her.
She is standing as well as CRAWLING -- though I will use this term lightly b/c its two crawls and then she falls -- though she is efficent in getting off her stomach into a sitting position- mastering it enough that she can do it while holding on to a toy.
She eats anything that is put in front of her - the little pig! She also has 4 teeth now.

Basically she is a ball of entertainment!

Hairstylin Sam!

Lately Sam's hair has been long enough that I can fashion it into the pebbles look
but once it comes down is when the rebel child comes out....
