Liddle Ladybug

This Halloween Sam was a ladybug- at first I wasn't sure we would be anything - she hated anything I tried on her. The lady bug costume was a donation from a distant relative in some clothes that was handed down- I loved it at first site and couldn't wait for her to wear it - and the thought of having to fight her to wear it - well it about broke my heart but while this story started out scary it had a happy ending. Introducing....

My Liddle Lady Bug!

After practicing our "Trick or Treat" all week we joined up with our usual partners in crime Hailey and Sadie and set out with candy in hand on a night of adventure

Here she is about 1/2 way in trick or treating

Taking a little break... Hey you have to when you are trying to keep up...

Busy little girl

As we get closer to the ripe old age of 2 there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day...

So many people to talk to

Did you check out the shoes. They are a must - she would wear them 24/7 if she could

Who says you can't keep in touch with old friends when you have kids?

Then ending a busy day by putting your babies to bed

All while trying to stay stylish in our mom's sunglasses

My Little Artist

The other night I brought out the paints and set Sam up at the table. Happy to get her hands in the paint- though some did end up on the paper- mostly she liked to mix all the colors together. But the fun ended around the time that the paint started to dry on her hands. Luckily it's washable paints and it came right off with a little water.

Great Ideas

So I came up with a plan to go and get pictures made at Portrait Innovations. So I spent a week looking at outfits getting it all planned and set in my mind of how things would be. What I didn't do was factor in a strong willed, headstrong 20 month old. This needless to say was a disaster. We started off with Sam having to be taken away from the Lego table - this did not go well. Then when setting up the first shot the lady accidentally hit Sam with her camera. But luckily Sam was okay and we decided to proceed after a few little treats to dry our tears. But the tone had been set and needless to say getting one good shot much less 2o was a miracle.

So here are a few one the ones we picked and liked. Note to self DO NOT DO THIS AGAIN - at least until she is older stick to home shot photos!

MIA

Yes I know we have been missing in action for a while now. During this time I lost my paternal grandmother to cancer. She was a great lady and I will miss her very much - though I know she is happy to be with my grandfather who passed the day before Sam was born and my uncle who passed in March of this year.

This picture was taken just a month before she passed.

Coming soon though I will have updates on Sam's 1st black eye, time spent with my dad, step mom and sisters from California, Greg's birthday and our up coming beach trip with my brother-in-law and niece from New Jersey. Expect to see more of me now that I have my laptop set up and will be able to have access to a computer with out having Greg begging me to hurry up so he can use it ; P

Zoo Adventures

A few weeks ago we met our good friends Alex and Chad at the zoo. This was Sam's first time going to the zoo - one of my favorite places. It was so much fun though it was super hot! It was fun seeing her name all the animals she knew and watching her learn new ones.

Here we are with the Hop Hops- though now she will say Kangaroo.
At one point one hopped away and she was ready to go after it

Here she is helping Greg feed the Lorakeets. She was ready to go after about a minute.

She loved the monkey's - especially the Gorilla.

At the petting zoo - petting the goats- she stated that the goat was soft
and was not scared at all to pet them.

Riding the carousal - this was also a first -

Telling Alex about the monkeys she was seeing. He is such a cutie!

We definitely can't wait to go back - just when it is a LOT cooler!
