Tummy Time Success

This deserves a post of its own. We have finally achieved success in the tummy time battle. Granted we are cheating a little but as you can see this time cheaters will prosper!!!

Tonight she even tried to climb over her pillow. Wiggling with her little legs it looks as if she was trying to escape from dreaded tummy time (and of course doing this all with her hand in her mouth - my little acrobat) . You be the judge:

4 am wake up call

My sweet little angel has decided that it is fun to get up at 4am the last few mornings (Yes that would mean this past Saturday and Sunday). This sweet chubby face little girl loves to tease her mother by falling back to sleep until she is laid down- then she proceeds to open her eyes- start cooing and smiling and wiggle dancing. Once I realize it is a losing battle up we go and into the travel swing. She talks, smiles and squeals when I put on her favorite show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Eventually she sits still long enough to pass back out - but this is usually when I am no longer able to go back to sleep myself or for instance this morning when it is time for me to start getting ready for work. But you can't help but forgive her for that lack of sleep when you look into this cute, sweet little pretty face!

*** update****

We have adjusted our schedule - this sweet little angel is now sleeping through the night again!!! We had a little talk as she was going to sleep on Monday night about how much fun sleep can be and that its unnatural to get up before the sun comes up. So we now have an understanding. She has taken this to heart the last few nights ....... lets hopes she doesn't forget!!!

How do you catch a cold?

That is what I would like to know so I can make sure Sam doesn't catch one ever again... or at least until she can blow her own nose. Poor thing is so congested (luckily it is in her throat and not her chest and she isn't running any fever) and when she is awake her breathing sounds like a pug's. Hopefully we are nearing the end b/c last night it started draining out (even more fun!). But my little trooper is holding her own. She may be mad b/c coughing woke her up (every hour last night it seemed) but as you are comforting her back to sleep she gives you the sweetest smile. This morning as I was getting ready and Greg was feeding and changing her- she was just a talking to him and cooing between coughs. We decided to keep her out of daycare today and I am here at work rushing to get things done so I can get back to her - Her Mimi (my mom) is staying with her - THANK YOU Mom!.

These are a few of my favorite things....

It amazes me each day how Sam can already have things she prefers and things she dislikes. She will have a come apart when she has a poopie diaper (who wouldn't!) but won't let out a peep if she is wet. Below are a few of her favorite things...

She loves her hand- something that I mentioned in a previous post. Poor thing, as hard as I try to get her to suck on a paci- she pushes it out with her tongue and in goes that hand. It is getting red and chapped which has me worried but she doesn't mind - away she goes day in day out with that hand in her mouth and a smile on her face.... (She can even stick her whole fist in her mouth.. which makes her daddy laugh)

The next thing that gets a shriek out of her when she is laid on the floor is a toy that I bought at a consignment sale for $7- This was my super buy and I will always love consignment sales because of it. I mainly got it to help her to enjoy tummy time - she couldn't care less - until you put her on her back.... Then you get squeals, kicks, wiggle dancing and cooing. It's a toy that stands above her and has a mirror, moving lights, plays music and has pads that she can hit to change the song or in our case if you let it go for so long it turns off and hitting the pads restarts it. She has actually restarted it a few times with her feet but it was not on purpose as much as I like to think it is (whole baby genius idea) It also folds down for when she is on her tummy- once again she could care less for that position. No matter how much she sees/interacts with it - it always is an easy way to entertain her...

Of course in my previous post I have mentioned her loving to watch tv- I try to limit that to Mickey Mouse Club in the morning but of course if there is a tv on - she will find it and it will captivate her....

She also loves what I call "her best friend". This is her reflection in the mirror- I wonder who she got that from (GREG). She will smile and coo at it and even talk to her reflection till she goes to sleep. Ahhh my sweet little baby...

Lastly, her favorite thing in the whole world is her changing table... you can lay this little girl on it for hours and she will talk whole sentences (in her language), wiggle dance, squeal and coo.... It even stops her from crying when she is fussy. I am not sure why- this is even the place that Greg said he heard her laugh. My little weirdo....

3 Months old!

Sam is 3 months old today! How time flies!

She is already trying to laugh- though Greg says she has laughed for him- I guess I am just not that funny!

She also is trying to sleep through the night on a consistent basis! She slept from 9pm- 6am last night. Of course she woke up in a great mood- that seems to be the norm for her though. (Lucky us!!!!) She is also trying to roll over -for a while she has been able to roll from her back to her side but over the last few weeks she has been trying to roll from her side to her stomach - if only she could just get her arm out of the way! Now if we can only get her to like tummy time- she either cries to be rolled back over or just lays there sucking on her hand- her favorite pacifier!

She also has become a TV hound. She just immediately snaps her head in whatever direction the TV is in. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is always guaranteed to get a smile and a squeal out of her - she watches it while me and Greg are getting ready in the morning.

Getting Started

Okay- I took this from my friend Holly b/c it sounded like fun and a good way to vent. Also I can keep family and friends updated on Samantha (Sam)Grace and the many adventures she has while growing up in the Liddle household with a scatterbrained mom to take care of her!!!
Of course her daddy is always there to make her smile and laugh and take over when mommy gets overwhelmed. So sit back and enjoy all the crazy things that happen in our house on a day to day basis!
