A Special Visit

My youngest sister Maranda came in town from California Saturday. I was so excited to see her.

She is staying at my aunt's house across town so I won't be able to see her everyday like I would like but she is here for two weeks so she is coming to stay with us at our house this weekend. We plan to take Sam to the zoo Sunday for the first time so I am hoping that the weather is good. Also I am going to take off next week to spend some more time with her. I can't wait for her to get to know Sam because she hasn't seen her except in pictures since she was 2 weeks old. BIG CHANGE!

We went over and hung out with her yesterday for a few hours. Above is a good picture that I snapped on my phone of the two of them. It was so sweet!

7 Months

I can't believe it --- Sam is 7 Months old! Where has time gone? She has changed so much and so fast...

Here's what is going on

Last time she was weighed a few weeks ago she weighed 17lbs.
Has moved out of the carrier and sits in high chairs when we go to resturants
Also is in a new car seat!
We are working our way through the Stage 2 foods - so far she has tried things mixed with Chicken and other mixed vegetables.
Sam is still a cuddle bug but I can tell she so wants to be mobile
She can sit up, though she hasn't figured out the crawling thing
Every once in a while it looks like she really wants to chase the cats

Still not a very good napper but will sleep all night from 8pm - 6am

Just this week started to pick up the Puffs snack and feed herself...

Loves Rice Rusks (so much neater than the biscuits)

Has 2 teeth (bottom) they came in within one week of each other and though it caused some fussiness - it was really not that bad-- but I would prefer the top teeth didn't come anytime soon.

Is such a mama's girl right now --- but she will reach out for anyone to hold her

Has made a friend at daycare -- when I went into her room the other day they were playing in the floor and Sam was babababaing her, also they had their heads together as if Sam was telling her some secret. The other little girl is a few months older and can crawl and pull up on things-- during playtime she will bring Sam toys to play with- and in return Sam will cheer her on as she starts to pull up and cruise around the room. Oh yeah and they also have squealing matches with each other all day.

Loves her jumparoo and excersaucer-- She could play in them for hours but poor thing can't stop jumping in the jumperoo when she is tired- It's as if she gets into a rhythm and can't stop

That's all for now... Happy 7 Months Sam --- you have been such a joy and blessing in our lives!

Once again

I am playing catch up!

Well Sam is turning 7 months on Friday (sniffle) I can't believe that it has been 7 months already --- well more to come with pictures this Friday.

Sam has starting teething --- she has one tooth that came in with no fuss or muss well less than a week later its evil twin came with lots of fuss and muss. And with this new arrival my sweet baby girl has disappeared.. No really she is not doing to bad just a little clingy okay and a little cranky but hey I am still getting my 8 hours of required sleep at night.

Sam has to have surgery on August 6th. Yes they will have to put my poor baby to sleep. When she was born there was a little knot/cyst at the bottom of her throat--- well this come to find out is where her body tried to grow a 3rd ear. Its just a little piece of cartlidge that decided to try to form and then realized it formed in the wrong spot. So we are going to go ahead and have it removed (more for cosmetic reasons than anything else) now b/c the ENT dr said that it would be better now than later. So right now to avoid the whole my daughter is going to be put to sleep issue --- I am focusing on the fact that she can't eat or drink anything after midnight... During the night I am not so worried about but what happens in the morning when she wakes up - how do you explain to a 7 month old they can't have a bottle or even water b/c they are going to have surgery? So I am now hoping that they will call me and tell me that her we have to have her there at that 5 in the morning (eck). Luckily the surgery is suppose to last 15 mins top and in recovery they will give her some water or pedilite... oh also they asure me that this surgery is so routine! I am sure you will be hearing more about this coming up...

I am on a birthday freak out.. Yes I know I have 5 months before Sam's 1st b'day and its something that she won't remember but I will and documenting is a must... also we have so so many friends and family that I want to invite that will no where near fit in my house so I am on the hunt for the perfect b'day party spot when we will be having cold (but who knows with Alabama weather it could be warm) weather. I also want to go ahead and book it b/c who knows peoples plans around Christmas.

Taataa for now!

A Big Celebration

This was a busy weekend...

Friday me and mom wore Sam out at the Watermark Oulet. But this little girl will be stylin come this winter and fall with all the cute stuff I got for her at Carter's. I love that store!

Saturday Sam woke up and I got her dressed in her 4th of July outfit unfortunately I forgot to put on her bib - but love the shirt- It says American's Sweetheart

Then we headed to family friend's house to hang out and celebrate the 4th of July. We had some really great food and spend the afternoon swimming..

While the adults and older kids played.....

Sam and her uncle Randy took a nice nap on the couch...

But after a while Sam woke up and after she ate in the pool we went..
It was a hit!

Especially when Hailey came and played with us

The next morning when she decided she wasn't going to take a nap
in the excersaucer we went. This is one of her favorite toys
Poor baby it's hard work avoiding naps...

But snuggling up with the right person - you can't avoid it!

We were actually celebrating my aunt's and grandmother's b'day.
Here is a picture of the whole family (me and my cousins, aunt, mom and grandmother)
