New beds
(here is Sam messing up her bed after I just made it)
The girls got new beds! Well new for them. Sam is in a day bed that I have had since I was a little girl and Sydney is finally in the crib! The girls have adjusted really well to the new beds as well as haring a room. Now if we can just get them set up in their actually room we will be all set!Wednesday, December 21, 2011
Happy birthday Sam and Mommy
I basically just want documentation that no I didn't forget that I am a year old and Samantha is 3. We had a blast and it has been a busy few weeks that doesn't look to calm down till after Christmas.
We celebrated Sam's birthday at A Play Place... a great indoor place I found in Trussville for her birthday last year. It has a bouncy house and slide, big tree house with a slide and arcade games. It is always a blast and super affordable! We had a great turn out and most of all Samantha had a blast! I can't wait till next year when we will be chasing her and Syd around having so much fun!

well now she is rolling! She rolled from her back to her stomach this weekend and she wasn't to sure about it. She started fussing because some how she was on her stomach and she didn't like it

A Little Visit
(Sorry a little blurry.. this was taken with my phone of the actual picture)
We attended Sam's daycare church festival last night. Sam had a blast and was so excited to see Santa and Ms. Claus. Sydney was baby Jesus in the live nativity scene so I wasn't able to see Sam's visit with Santa but Greg and mom said that she was so excited and told him that see "TeeTeed in the potty like a big girl" It was a great night and both she and Sydney were worn out when we got home.

3 Months Old
I can't belive that my baby is 3 Months old. A little sad because I know that she is my last and it's the last time that we will have such a little baby!
I probably should rephrase that since she is no little baby. She doesn't have a nickname of Big Baby for nothing. She weighed 13lbs 2 oz at her 2 month appt so I would assume she is around or over 14lbs by now. She loves to eat!
Sydney also has to sit up at all times! She can't stand to be reclined back not be able to see all that is going on. She wants to be a big girl like her sister so bad!
While she is similar to Sam in a lot of ways - She HATES the car! Most babies love the car not our Syd- she usually fusses at you the whole time.
When she is tired you know it- she fusses until you pop that paci in (the only time she will take it) and give her elephant blanket- but hey if that is not available any blanket she can cover her face up with will do. I am constantly checking to make sure she hasn't completely covered herself to where she can't breathe but if you move it before she is deeply asleep - she wakes up and shows her irritation!
But she is such a sweet natured baby and will "talk" you all day if you'll talk back. She loves her big sister and vice versa. The other day one of the daycare workers asked if Sam wanted to go home with her and she said yes, but we got to take my sister too.
We have truly been blessed to have such sweet wonderful girls!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
This weekend we got our tree out or as Sam calls it "Christmas". We had a blast decorating it and it was so exciting that Sam was able to help this year (of course we had all shatterproof ornaments and the ones that weren't were hung by me or Greg up top). We had gone to Walmart to let Sam pick out an ornament as a new tradition for each year and of course she choose a pack that included all the characters from Tinkerbell- we are all things Tinkerbell right now.
While Sydney did sleep through the process she did awaken to see the final results and you could tell she was unsure of what the tree was but completely fascinated by it and all the lights.
Sam also had to instruct her on how you place an ornament on the tree using her new tinkerbell ornaments. Which by the way are off the tree right now b/c it is an hourly thing to take them off and put the back on. They all are on the same branch in a bunch and please don't think you can touch them or move them. It will go noticed!

"More Eagle"
Football is a big staple in our house this time of year. We have it on the tv Saturday and Sunday, all day no matter who's playing but especially if Alabama or Auburn are playing. Me, I can personally sit there with a book and read or play with the girls. Greg went to Auburn and is a huge Auburn fan. I lean more towards Alabama but at the end of the day if he is happy with who won I am too. This Saturday is the big Alabama/Auburn game. We have the girls shirts ready, plans to gather at a friend's house and have a great time. Greg doesn't expect much from the game this year b/c in his words Auburn is not doing it's best and he has basically moved on to the Championship game where we will hopefully see LSU and Alabama in a rematch. But for now as Sam says "More Eagle!"

Twins 3 Years Apart...
Can you tell which is which? It is so hard to believe that both our girls look so much alike! If you didn't know the top one is Samantha and the bottom one is Sydney. I have been told I need to start marking the back of my pictures. Not only do they look alike they are a lot alike in personality with a few differences. Sydney is a little more I wouldn't say needy - well yes I would and chubbier- okay my sweet baby girl is a chunk at about 13 1/2 and not even 3 months old yet! Gotta love those chubby thighs!

Introducing.....
Sydney Madison born August 23, 2011. She weighed 7lbs and 15 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.
Sam was super excited to meet her little sister Sydney and has done really well. She loves being a big sister and evens doesn't mind throwing away all the dirty diapers.
She is always begging to hold her and does a good job especially now that Sydney is better at holding up her head so that we can sit her up in Sam's lap...
Sam is even excited b/c all the baby toys are just new toys she can play with. We usually have to remind her that while they use to be hers they are Sydney's now and she has more big girl toys that she can play with....

Just So I Don't Forget
I can't really say things have been so busy I haven't had time to post but really I have just been so tired! It's all I can do to get through a 40 hour week, come home attempt to clean my clutter filled house as well as entertain Sam till it's bedtime... Then it's my turn!
Things are good though- I hopefully will soon have zoo pictures, some pictures from her year end school program - which she did magnificent in- they had the class go over their colors, shapes, numbers and ABC's. Easter pictures (wait did I take any- I have been horrible with the camera this year) and probably a whole post on the goofy faces Sam makes.
We have officially started 2K - which she loves, started potty training - which is....going, as well as still ignoring anything that has to do with baby sisters. Though she has started noticing babies but not in the way I would want- she sees one in the carrier and assumes it is a sleep and will proceed to yell "Wake up baby, wake up!" I am not taking that as a good sign but I guess we will know soon enough b/c our good friends are set to have a little girl at anytime. I can't wait to meet Carter Jane and to be honest see how Sam reacts to me and Greg holding her.
We are slowly but surely preparing for own arrival. We have decided on a first name of Sydney and as for a middle name Greg gets to decided that and I am pretty much resigned to the fact that we won't know what it is till the day she is born. I am already miserable with the heat - it takes my breathe away as soon as I step outside so I am in for a long summer!
Sam has gotten into Care Bears- basically wanting to watch it daily though thankfully with the nice weather she has preferred the outdoors to staying inside- on this I have to sigh... see above comments about taking my breathe away. Also her knew thing is if she doesn't want to do something or eat something it's always :no she will do it tomorrow. That is her version of she will just do it later. It is so cute! Well enough rambling and I leave you with a promise of pictures soon!

Liddle Baby
GIRL!
Yup Sam is going to have a little sister. We are beyond excited and can't wait to meet this sweet baby girl. She is super active- where Sam I barely felt move. During the ultrasound she was in constant motion - even at one point having the hiccups. But just like her big sister Sam - she was more than willing to let us know what gender she was. Now if me and Greg can just decide on a name. There are a million running through my head and I am just waiting to see which one Greg agrees on....
To hold you over until the name reveal here are a few pics of Sam's Liddle Sister!
(Sorry so blurry for some reason they look okay till they are uploaded)

Spring Daycare Pictures
New Daycare.... New Photographer.
I was told that Sam couldn't decide if she liked the photographer or not so we have a few with red eyes. So in between the crying we were able to get some good shots.
(note: Sam never leaves a bow in her hair or well anything in her hair so I am surprised it made an appearance in the pictures and well as daycare were suppose to take her socks off before placing the ballet shoes on... oh well she still looks adorable!!!)

Things Happen
Once again I am playing catch up -- but with a good excuse or well excuses....
Mid January Alabama had a snow/ice storm. Greg slipped on the ice shattering his right ankle and breaking his right list. After surgery and 5 days in the hospital he was home ready to be waited on hand and foot. Today we actually went and had his cast removed. He is in a splint and air cast for the next 3 weeks while he completes therapy and still immobile or well should become more mobile over the next few weeks.
Sitting just like daddy! Excuse the mess Greg lived in the living room for a few weeks before he could make it up the stairs.
This normally wouldn't be so bad to look at after him and Sam (thank goodness for me mom- who takes Sam to daycare each morning so I can make it to work on time and picks her up when I need to run errands) but we received wonderful news mid December- I am expecting another liddle one. I am due at the end of August and so excited.
So needless to say these last few months have been an adventure as I take care of a wonderful but helpless husband a toddler entering the terrible twos (well not so terrible but a few hiccups) and as I ease into the second trimester, getting a little bit of my appetite back and not so tired. At least by the time the baby comes Greg will be well enough to wait on me hand and foot.
One of the hiccups - we can't seem to ditch the paci- we came close but the hospital stay messed that all up!
